There is a quiet rhythm to the way this home unfolds. Beyond the threshold, luxury is introduced not through overt spectacle, but through the grounded cadence of light-oak herringbone parquet, tactile materials and soft washes of concealed illumination.

Rather than imposing a singular design vocabulary, the residence evolves as an experiential journey—moving between intimacy and grandeur, contemporary restraint and Indian heritage, moments of contemplation and spaces designed for celebration.

 

Grandeur Meets Devotion: The Double-Height Heart

From the intimate drawing room, with its soft tonal palette and illuminated panels in slate blue, ochre and olive, the spatial scale expands dramatically into the double-height living volume.

At its heart is an expansive custom-arched Pichwai of Shrinathji, set against finely fluted timber panelling. More than an artwork, it becomes an architectural focal point—its monumental scale giving cultural and spiritual gravity to the two-storey volume.

The vertical fluting, concealed lighting and arched composition establish a sense of permanence, while a low-slung oatmeal sectional and burnt-orange lounge chairs bring warmth and human scale back into the room.

The adjoining dining salon continues this richer material language. A sculptural dining table in emerald Brazilian quartzite, edged in patinated gold and supported by a dark fluted pedestal, becomes the centrepiece. Dove-grey curved chairs maintain a deliberately low visual profile, allowing the room to remain connected to the private gardens beyond.

Movement as Sculpture: The Circulation Gallery

Here, circulation is treated as an architectural experience rather than simply a means of moving from one room to another.

A sculptural staircase in polished white marble and emerald quartzite appears to float beside an elevator shaft clad in dark ribbed timber. Under-step LED lighting draws the eye upward, revealing live-edge timber ledges, textured wall reliefs and delicate bronze bird sculptures along the journey.

The upper landing introduces another layer of spatial choreography. A slatted oak screen creates privacy while preserving visual connection to the living volume below. Amber fluted-glass pendants cast warm reflections across the smoked-glass mezzanine railing, while a bespoke stepped walnut library wall creates quieter alcoves for reading and contemplation.

 

Intimate Sanctuaries: Spaces with Individual Character

As one moves upstairs, the architecture becomes more intimate. Each private suite develops its own sensory identity rather than repeating a common design language.

The primary suite embraces tactile terracotta, blush suede and walnut veneers, creating an enveloping sense of warmth. Indirect ceiling lighting softly washes the room, while hand-painted heron murals introduce an almost dreamlike connection to serene river landscapes.

The secondary master and guest suites explore contrasting moods—grasscloth and lime-wash textures paired with vintage floral furniture in one, and crisp geometric grids, floating bedside ledges and midnight-blue accents in another.

The children’s enclave brings an entirely different energy. Marine-teal fluted panelling, a sculptural football installation and bold PLAY typography create a playful architectural identity, balanced by the richness of cognac leather.

At the centre of this private world lies the Mandir, conceived as an intentional pause in the home's spatial sequence. Hand-carved fluted timber pillars frame a polished marble altar, while a radiant gold-finished sacred tree-ring motif and heirloom brass elements create an atmosphere of quiet reverence.

 

Evening Entertaining: From Cinema to Terrace

As daylight fades, the residence transitions naturally from contemplation to entertainment.

The private cinema is conceived as a richly immersive environment, with undulating charcoal and olive acoustic panels that integrate structural doorways into the composition. Mustard-tan recliners and dark burl millwork add warmth and depth to the cinematic setting.

The journey finally extends outdoors to the covered terrace and bar lounge. Graphic black, white and ochre flooring establishes a bold visual rhythm, while a geometric black-and-gold bar becomes the social centre of the space. A charcoal-ribbed feature wall and oversized architectural planters frame the terrace, creating a seamless relationship between open-air living and the city skyline.

 

A Home Designed as a Journey

Ultimately, the residence is not defined by a single style. Its character emerges through sequence, contrast and emotion—from the warmth of timber and stone to the spirituality of the Pichwai and Mandir, from intimate private rooms to expansive entertaining spaces.

Every transition has been considered: light becomes atmosphere, material becomes texture, art becomes architecture, and circulation becomes experience.

The result is a modern Indian home that feels neither nostalgic nor overtly contemporary, but deeply personal—a residence where heritage and modernity coexist with quiet confidence.
